Deutschland ein Wintermärchen

In the past three months I have only updated ya’ll two times. Sorry! Every time it seems appropriate to update (birthday or fun weekend) I never have pictures to support any of my stories. Take today as an example. We went to Essen (where the Zeppelin was invented, for those interested in history). There we visited the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market, a phenomenon which will be shortly explained), and it was really beautiful! A large Ferris wheel, tons of Glühwein stands, Bratwurst and Krakauer stands, and of course tons of candy. Would that not be something better said with a picture?
Alright, now for the Weihnachtsmarkt explanation. Wikipedia has a page explaining the phenomenon, however it leaves out all the important details. At one of these markets, there are three main stands: sweets, meats, and treats. The sweets range from gingerbread (Lebkuchen) to hard candies (Bon Bons). The hard candies range from strawberry to the very much-loved black licorice. Not to be overseen there are also Crepes and Germknodel galore.
